the colors are amazing in this, and I love the outlined flowers. I definately have to devote a lot of time this summer to starting up with my markers again. You should make another tut to help me.
Dude, I've already made like....two. At this point, I don't know what exactly you're having trouble with. Is there a specific problem you're having? you can always ask me how I did something in any peice I post, and I'll be happy to try and explain it for you. I'm afraid that even if I did a tutorial on every thing I put up here, they'd still all sound exactly the same.
Maybe I just need more practice, but everytime I try to get lovely blended colors they turn out just a mess, too intense and blocking out all of the layers I carefully tried to preserve. ahhhhh.
for the blending problem, might I suggest only using one intense, highly saturated color? On the dress, I used one deep purple, with mahogany shadows first. After that it was mostly mid to light greys, light peaches, and light pinks. If i had put down more saturated colors, yeah it would have been a hideous mess. Markers really demand a lot of agonizing study over how color interacts with itself; it's not a short term thing. Keep trying though!
Sweet ^_^ And literally so. the way you use prismacolors looks so yummy I want to eat it. I love the sheen-y effect you've achieved in the dress, especially. And the cut out little shapes round her head and foot are fun. Cool ^_^

Devious Technology is very proud to announce one of deviantART’s most highly anticipated projects – Portfolio: The Awesome Version!! Portfolio is the simplest and most professional tool on the Internet for formal presentation and review of artwork, and the best part is: it's available to everyone for FREE!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
