I must have drawn ten different versions of this painting. For some reason nothing was working; I even had to cancel a modelling job to get this done tonight. Oh man, so glad I did.

This is a grims fairy tale about a girl whos father chopped off her hands and she ran away....because I was working right up until the deadline, it's not as good as it could be :/ But I really need to stop now and call it a night.

In this particular scene, the girl is so hungry but she can't pick any fruit off the trees due to her injury, so she wanders into the royal orchards and eats pears that are so heavy she can eat them right off the branch. After a few nights of this, the frightened gardener asks the king to see this for himself, for only they can see the celestial spirit in white that watches over her.

"Just like in the tales that time made soft. I'll be the girl with her hands cut off." Lovely job.
