Artist's Comments
Based on one of my favorite Grimm's fairytales. Also influenced in part by Bosch's "Death and the miser", if only for that silver arrow, and the shroud. I didn't even realize I was borrowing them until I was halfway done; I remember studying that painting very hard when I was about twelve because I went through this obsession with the bubonic plague at the time.
